A superb example of the 1822 Pattern sword purchased in 1829 (the last year of King George IV reign)
Ensign and Lieut 13th August 1829, Lieut and Captain 27th March 1835, Brevet-Major 9th November 1846, Capt and Lt Colonel 29th October 1847.
Henry Daniell served with the Coldstream Guards until 1867, He was present in the Crimea from 27th March 1855, And served under three successive Monarchs.
It is quite possible that he carried this sword throughout his Military career, With the possibility of aquiring the new 1854 Pattern upon its inception.
